In just five years, BNB Chain has grown from a single blockchain into one of the world’s most powerful Web3 ecosystems.

What started as an idea in 2020, to make blockchain faster, cheaper, and open to everyone, is now the foundation where millions of people build, trade, and create every day.

The past twelve months were not just about progress. They were about acceleration. Together, we have taken a leap forward that sets the stage for the next era of Web3.

2024–2025: Milestones That Redefined What’s Possible

Over the last year, BNB Chain has seen remarkable growth in usage and adoption. Daily active users surged past 4.7 million, with BSC consistently averaging 1.12 million and opBNB reaching new highs. This momentum reflects not only growth, but the strength of the communities and builders who continue to choose BNB Chain as their home.

With the Maxwell and Lorentz hard forks, the chain became faster and more efficient than ever before. Block times were reduced to just 0.75 seconds, while gas fees fell to as little as $0.001, making Web3 applications more accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world. 

Security also took a major step forward. The launch of the BNB Goodwill Alliance slashed sandwich attacks by 95 percent, reinforcing protections for users across the network and helping contribute to an 87 percent overall drop in exploit losses on BSC.

Liquidity reached record heights. BSC processed $319.4B in DEX trading volume, leading all chains, with daily volumes peaking at $13.3B. Stablecoins also flourished. BNB Chain became the number one blockchain for stablecoin transactions and active users, reaching $11B in market cap and saving users around $5M in fees through the 0 Fee Stablecoin Carnival.

The broader ecosystem expanded in both scale and depth. TVL climbed to $14B at its height, unique addresses on BSC passed 611 million, and more than 5,000 projects now build on BNB Chain. Beyond DeFi, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) gained traction with major players choosing BNB Chain as their base. Through Securitize, VanEck brought U.S. Treasury Bills onchain with its vBILL product. At the same time, Backed Finance’s tokenized equities, including stocks from global companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Tesla, became available to trade on Kraken via xStocks. Ondo Finance also integrated BNB Chain into its Global Markets platform, bringing institutional-grade tokenized securities to the ecosystem. These milestones were reinforced by the RWA Incentive Program, which is driving further adoption of real-world assets on BNB Chain. 

Together, these milestones show that the vision we set in motion five years ago is not only alive, but accelerating faster than ever.

Five Years of Supporting Builders

From day one, BNB Chain has been built for builders. Over the past five years, that commitment has only grown stronger, giving founders the resources, the stage, and the community to turn ideas into impact.

Our flagship accelerator, Most Valuable Builder (MVB), has now incubated more than 200 projects. The latest edition evolved into a 10-week global residency, providing founders with mentorship, funding connections, and hands-on support to scale.

Hackathons have also remained a launchpad for innovation. The most recent BNB Hack celebrated 9 winners and 50 Honourable Mentions, highlighting projects in AI, DeFi, DePIN, and DeSoc.

On the ground, Builder Bunker opened as a physical basecamp for developers, founders, and creators to collaborate, co-work, and scale with direct support from the BNB Chain team.

The BNB Chain Annual Awards launched to celebrate the ecosystem’s brightest talent, from promising rising stars to established leaders, with winners chosen by community vote.

We also released an updated version of the Martians Program, creating a new path for the most passionate community members to champion BNB Chain globally, contribute directly, and shape the culture of Web3 adoption.

With over 4 million followers and users across 100+ countries, BNB Chain is no longer just a blockchain. It is a global movement.
