BNB Chain Wallet Sunset: Important Update

This announcement is to update all community members about the final sunset plan of the BNB Chain Wallet (BEW) browser extensions.

The sunset of BEW will take effect on October 15, 2025. 

Important: Please be aware that the sunset of BEW does not affect the safety of your funds. As long as you have securely backed up your seed phrase or private keys, you can always recover your assets in another wallet.

Timeline:

• October 15, 2025 → BEW will be removed from Chrome and Firefox extension stores.
• Final Sunset → Same date as removal (October 15, 2025).

This update affects how users will be able to access and manage BEW moving forward.

We want to ensure every user has enough time to prepare, so please read the following carefully.

What’s Happening?

Beginning September 15, 2025, the BNB Chain Wallet extension will officially begin its sunset process.

• No further updates, bug fixes, or support will be provided after this date.
• BEW will be removed from the Chrome and Firefox extension stores on October 15, 2025.
• Users who already have BEW installed may still be able to access it, but please note: use it at your own risk. 
  • If you are a new user, we do not recommend downloading BEW. Instead, we recommended using wallets like Trust Wallet, Binance Wallet or other wallet for a better user experience.

The final sunset date will be around four weeks after this announcement. Please follow our updates on our X account for the latest information.

Actions For BNB Chain Wallet Users

1. Secure your Your Seed Phrase or Private Keys
   • Back them up safely before uninstalling BEW.
   • Never share them with anyone, not even with the BNB Chain team.
2. Uninstall BNB Chain Wallet
   • We strongly recommend uninstalling the extension once you have secured your recovery information.
3. Choose a New Wallet
   • For the best experience, we recommend Trust Wallet, Binance Wallet or another trusted wallet solution.

BNB Chain shall not be responsible or liable for any losses, damages, or claims arising from continued use of BEW after the sunset date.

BC Private Key Solution

If you have a wallet with assets on the BNB Beacon Chain, you may still need access for token recovery or other purposes.

• Please note: this version is no longer officially supported and should be used at your own risk.
