What is Bitcoin Pizza Day?

Bitcoin Pizza Day marks the first-ever real-world Bitcoin transaction when a developer named Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 BTC on two pizzas on May 22, 2010. At the time, Bitcoin was still a niche experiment. Today, 10,000 BTC is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and those two pizzas have become a symbol of crypto history.

Each year, the crypto community celebrates this quirky but meaningful day. It reminds us how far Bitcoin has come and inspires reflection on the technology's growth. This year, BNB Chain is marking the moment with a community-driven campaign that brings together crypto culture, collectibles, and education around BTCFi on BNB Chain.
