Share progress early, engage closely and get real feedback from people who might use what you’re building. It also gives the community a chance to follow along, support the journey, and add energy as you iterate.

So that by the time you ship, you’re not launching into silence and you’re putting something out with momentum and good vibes behind it!

How it Works

Days 1 to 4 (Jan 22 - 25): Ideation in Public

We believe that good ideas and good vibes are meant to be shared in public. So here’s how you start:

1. Set up a new X account for your project or use your personal X account.
2. Join the official BNB Chain Discord
   1. Next join the #vibe-coding Discord channel for tech support
3. With your X account, reply to the official announcement post on BNB Chain’s X with this format: Project idea + #VibingOnBNB.
4. Then engage with our posts and fellow community members 

From there, qualifying projects move into the next phase (Days 5 to 8) and are added to a public list, where the build continues in the open.

Days 5 to 8 (Jan 26 - 29): Vibe Coding in Public

Once you’ve got your idea locked in, all the vibe coding work should begin and happen in public and here’s how it should look:

• Share a public GitHub repository via your project’s X account using the hashtag #VibingOnBNB.
• Make daily progress updates on the account throughout this phase.
• All AI coding tools can be used freely, whether for scaffolding, iteration or speed.
• As a final requirement, share a demo video via your project’s X account by Jan 29.

We recommend prioritizing execution and iteration over perfect architecture.

Jan 28: Ctrl + Shift Challenge

To reward adaptability, a Ctrl + Shift Challenge will be shared via BNB Chain’s account, just 24 hours before the hackathon ends.

• This feature can be something simple or something that makes you rethink part of your product.
• Participation in this challenge is completely optional.
• A successful implementation will give you a 20% bonus in the final scoring.

Jan 30: Winner Announcement

On Jan 30, projects will be invited on a livestream to showcase their demos and winners will be announced live.

Open Tracks

The tracks are intentionally open for ideas to evolve. Some broad track ideas include:

• Bears Be Gone - Tools and ideas that help people survive the crypto winter.
• Make CT Useable Again - Apps, bots or workflows that clean up the timeline, surface signal, or make CT less exhausting to use.
• Clone Yourself - Digital twins, clones, or mirrored versions of yourself, your data, or your behavior, built for fun, utility, or experimentation.
• Sanity Check - Products or ideas focused on mental health, burnout prevention, focus, or helping builders stay human while shipping nonstop.
• Touching Grass - Ideas that encourage logging off, going outside, or reconnecting with the real world, without pretending tech isn’t part of life.
• WFH, But Better - Tools that make remote work, async collaboration, and timezone chaos easier to live with and actually productive.

You also have the freedom to explore a completely new track that doesn’t fit into any category here. More tracks will be added on a daily basis as the hackathon continues.

Competition Criteria

Submission Criteria

To keep things clear and fair, we’ve outlined a simple set of submission requirements that all projects need to meet:

• Project’s GitHub must be created during the timeframe of the hackathon.
• Have at least one onchain transaction on BNB Chain (BSC / opBNB)

Judging

Final results are decided through a split model:

• 50% of the final score comes from community voting via Snapshot.
  • Voters are required to hold some BNB in the voting wallet and the weight of the vote will be related to how much BNB is held in the voting wallet.
• 50% comes from sponsor judges with relevant ecosystem context.

The 20% bonus from the Ctrl + Shift challenge will then be applied to your final score.

No, the only method for entry is by submitting an application on X. 

Set up a new X account for your project and reply to the official announcement post on BNB Chain’s X with this format: Project idea + #VibingOnBNB, by Jan 25 to participate.

What happens after I submit my application on X?

Once submitted, continue to share ideas and feedback openly via your project’s X account. On Jan 26, only qualifying projects will be added to a curated public X list, where the build continues in the open until Jan 29.

How often should I share updates?

No hard rules, but daily progress updates during the competition period are strongly encouraged.
