BNB Chain is the #1 Network for AI Agents

TL;DR

  • AI agents onchain have grown over 43,750% increase since January 2026 - from 337 to more than +150,00*
  • BNB Chain is now the #1 network for ERC-8004 agent deployments, with 1 in 3 agents live on BNB Chain
  • BNB Chain's native BAP-578 standard goes further than ERC-8004, enabling agents that are ownable, tradable, upgradable, and capable of autonomous execution

A New Kind of Onchain Activity

In January 2026, fewer than 400 AI agents existed onchain. Today, that number has crossed +150,000* and 1 in 3 agents now live on BNB Chain.

And the growth isn't just in numbers, it's in what those agents are actually doing.

Developers are deploying agents to run DeFi strategies, deploy tokens with native skills from BNB Smart Chain (BSC), power NFT activity, manage customer-facing applications, and coordinate across chains. Agents don't sleep, and have specific requirements - they execute constantly, across multiple protocols, on tasks that would take a human hours to manage manually.

That demands infrastructure that can actually keep up. On BNB Chain, the economics work: low fees mean high-frequency activity stays viable while fast transactions mean nothing gets bottlenecked.

Where Agents Are Going

According to 8004scan – a third-party aggregator that benchmarks AI agent deployments under the ERC-8004 standard across multiple chains - BNB Chain has emerged as the #1 network for agent activity.

The numbers back it up:

As agent deployments on BNB Chain surged over the past month, transaction volume surged with them. Daily transactions tied to ERC-8004 agents on BSC hit a new high of nearly 523,000 transactions on March 10.

You can see that play out in what builders are actually shipping from some examples on BNB Chain:

  • Milady on BSC is building agent-driven games and simulations that collect real training data in live environments - refining how agents behave without exposing users to unnecessary risk.
  • Pieverse is focused on execution, removing the friction between what a user wants and what happens onchain - letting people interact naturally while agents handle the workflow through secure, constrained systems.
  • Termix is taking that further on the usability side, building interfaces where users simply describe what they want done and agents interpret and execute across DeFi - making onchain activity feel intuitive for people who would never otherwise touch it.
  • Unibase is working at the infrastructure layer - building the memory, identity, and coordination systems that let agents carry continuity and reputation across applications, instead of starting from zero every time.

ERC-8004 has become the baseline identity standard for autonomous agents in Web3. It allows agents to carry a verifiable, portable identity across environments rather than being locked to a single platform or application.

What BAP-578 Adds

BNB Chain's native BAP-578 standard - Non-Fungible Agents - extends what ERC-8004 makes possible.

Where ERC-8004 establishes identity, BAP-578 makes agents fully ownable, tradable, and upgradable onchain assets. They can hold assets, execute autonomously, and carry persistent intelligence with verifiable learning proofs. BAP-578 is ERC-8004 compatible by design, so developers building on BNB Chain get both standards without having to choose between interoperability and capability.

Since its launch on BNB Chain,128,591* verified BAP-578 agents have been deployed, according to NfaSCAN.

What This Means

For most of crypto's history, participation has required a human in the loop - signing transactions, monitoring positions, deciding when to act.

But now, agents shift that model. They handle ongoing execution without waiting for manual input, which changes what onchain systems can realistically do.

This doesn't remove the need for good infrastructure, it raises the bar for it. Agents operating at scale require chains that can support high-frequency, low-cost interactions reliably. We’ve also recently released the BNBAgent SDK, the first live implementation of ERC-8183 on BNB Chain, enabling trustless onchain AI workflows. It combines identity (ERC-8004), escrow, and decentralized arbitration into one developer framework.

That is where the current growth becomes meaningful. The chains building the right conditions now are the ones where agent economies will take hold. BNB Chain's dual-standard approach - ERC-8004 compatibility alongside BAP-578 - is designed for exactly that. Not just agent registration, but the infrastructure for agents to operate, transact, and create value at scale.

We're continuing to build toward that.
